For a contract lounge, the Pearl Lounge at Marrakesh Menara International Airport is one of the better Priority Pass Lounges in the network. The modest lounge is spacious, bright and airy and offers functional spaces for both business and leisure travelers to relax, socialize or be productive before a flight.

Star Alliance Passengers: Note that you only receive pre-departure lounge access at Marrakesh Menara International Airport when you are flying with TAP Portugal. No other Star Alliance carrier (Austrian, Lufthansa, SWISS, Turkish, United, etc.) offers pre-departure lounge services for their business class passengers or Star Alliance Gold members. TAP Portugal business class passengers and Star Alliance Gold members flying with TAP Portugal will have access to the Royal Air Maroc Oasis Lounge in terminal 3.

For the rest of us, there’s the Pearl Lounge located in terminal 1. The lounge is located airside (post-security) after all the duty-free shops. After you clear customs and immigration, go up the escalator and make an immediate left. Follow the signs towards the Salon CIP/Pearl Lounge, located at the very end of the shopping arcade.

The Pearl Lounge is open 24 hours a day but Priority Pass members are limited to a 3-hour stay. The small lounge has an open roof and large floor-to-ceiling windows, which let in plenty of natural lighting and make the lounge feel open and spacious.

The main seating area of the lounge is located in the center of the lounge. There are a variety of seating options for both solo passengers and groups traveling together, ranging from low armchairs and recliners to couches and booths.

I love these semi-enclosed booths. They have high walls and offer a more private space for groups traveling together or individuals needing a bigger space to be productive.

There are several workstations available in the center of the lounge with desktop computers. Electrical outlets are found by some of the seating areas and WiFi is provided throughout the lounge.

There are no day rooms here but there are several recliners located by the windows. They offer a decent amount of privacy and a space to rest for a few hours.

The dining room and buffet areas are located in the back of the lounge. The self-serve buffet stations offer a good selection of both hot and cold food options. During my visit, 12:00 PM on a Saturday afternoon, there was a selection ranging from salad bowls to chicken skewers and desserts. The Priority Pass website lists that alcoholic beverages are available but during my Ramadan visit, I didn’t see any alcohol displayed.

If you need to freshen up, there are two shower rooms available (one in each male/female bathroom). There was someone using the men’s shower room during my visit so I wasn’t able to peak my head in to take a picture. I’m not sure what amenities, if any, are provided.

The large windows let in a lot of natural lighting but unfortunately, are covered by this decorative plating.

To the left of the entrance, there are several enclosed smoking rooms, along with a larger smoking room located in the back of the lounge. Moroccans must love to smoke.

If you are traveling with kids, there are two enclosed playrooms available inside the lounge. The playrooms provide televisions with kid’s programming, a foosball table, and a playhouse to keep them entertained.

Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Merera Airport Bottom Line

For a contract lounge, the Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Airport exceeded my expectations. It wasn’t the biggest lounge but it offered functional spaces for both solo travelers and groups traveling together. The lounge was not busy during my visit. It was kept clean and stocked with quality food options. I was pleasantly surprised by this lounge and I’m glad it’s available for Priority Pass members.
